Wedding gingerbread

Wedding season is always one of my favourite (and busiest!) times of the year and this summer has involved some fantastic bespoke wedding orders.

Diana & Raphael

When Diana & Raph first got in touch I got really excited as they wanted something really original and alternative and their cake was clearly an important part of the day for them.  The theme for their reception was 'frivolous footwear' and they wanted a cake that represented their love of travel and adventure.  Together we came up with the idea of a 3D sculpted mountain landscape cake with miniature brogues in marzipan and gingerbread landmarks to highlight their three favourite cities - they met in Zurich, moved to Paris and are now based in London.

They love their brogues with red laces, so I incorporated strawberry laces to tie the design together - they trace their journey across the edible landscape and up the mountain to the shoes of the happy gingerbread couple on the top.

Laura & Chris

Laura & Chris had a gin-themed wedding in a beautiful barn setting in rural Kent.  Food and drink were really important aspects of the day for them and they were looking for some unique favours for their guests.  They had a clear idea of the design for the favours and wanted them to fit with the theme of their gin bar and gin-themed table settings.  So I created botanical-infused gingerbread biscuits incorporating the ingredients from their favourite Sipsmith gin.

Chris designed some beautiful stickers to finish them off perfectly.
