From individually branded miniature gingerbread piñatas, to a huge gingerbread replica of a stately home, I've worked with lots of brands to make beautiful and delicious creations, which help them stand out whatever the occasion or event. Everything is designed and made to order, so I work closely with you to find the right solution, then bring it to life with the help of my small team.
Once we've chatted about the details of your event I create a design proposal with some different options to fit your brand and budget, which we can then talk about in more detail before deciding on a design. Depending on the scale of the project, I sometimes create samples or a cardboard version to illustrate the final design. It's really important to me that you're completely happy, so I work hard to make sure you're over the moon with the results.
You can have as much or as little creative input into the detail of the design as you would like. I absolutely love coming up with new ideas you might not have thought of, but I equally enjoy translating drawings or architects' plans into precise gingerbread versions.
Intricately iced gingerbread slabs for Doisy & Dam
The brief was to create hand-iced gingerbread versions of Doisy & Dam's new packaging to celebrate the launch of their chocolate bars in Sainsbury's stores nationally. I made accurately-sized biscuits then carefully replicated the packaging patterns, including colour matching the icing, with the aim that people would do a double-take when glancing at the images.
Castle Howard Christmas installation
I created a gingerbread replica of Castle Howard in Yorkshire in intricate detail, including the main house and seven of its surrounding buildings and monuments, creating a winter wonderland installation measuring 3m x 4m. In collaboration with Bompas & Parr, I translated architectural plans of each building into accurate edible versions using gingerbread, hand-piped royal icing, edible metallic paint, and pastillage. I also created a working gingerbread train that weaved its way throughout the wintry landscape. The whole project took over two months to complete and was on display in a room in Castle Howard as part of their Christmas celebrations.
Floor tile pattern chocolate brownie for Zizzi restaurants
The brief was to create an original piece of food art incorporating ingredients from the new dishes being added to Zizzi's menu. Inspired by the earthy colours of the ingredients of their salted caramel chocolate brownie, I designed this intricately detailed pattern based on floor tiles. Each of the tiles is a large chocolate brownie, onto which I added the pattern decorations using piped white chocolate, salted caramel, and dark chocolate icing.
Working clock for display in Harrods
I created this large fully-working clock for Harrods bakery Christmas display. Inspired by traditional German cuckoo clock designs, the decoration incorporated branch-like structures and lots of hand-painted metallic details for a really luxurious Christmas look.
Gingerbread robots for Hooligans Magazine
I created a series of 15 different gingerbread robots for a childrens' party photoshoot, featured in Hooligans Magazine. The robots were individually designed and decorated to form a complete range of shapes, sizes and personalities.
8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Christmas Special (Channel 4)
I was commissioned by Zeppotron productions to create an overly elaborate gingerbread showpiece to be featured on the Christmas Special edition of the show. I made a series of half-made gingerbread houses followed by a really large ultra-decorative Christmas mansion for the 30 second montage in which Jimmy Carr appears to be building a simple gingerbread house before the final reveal.
